On May 9, 2018, a lecture meeting on "Mycotoxins: their Importance and Impact on Agriculture's General Health", was held by the Division of Plant Protection of the Department of Agricultural Sciences of the Academy.

At first, Prof. Abbas Sharifi Tehrani, head of the Department, welcomed the participants. Then, Prof. Keramatollah Izadpanah, chairman of the Division, elaborated on the significance of the meeting. Afterwards, Prof. Mehdi Razzaghi Abyaneh focused on mycotoxins which pollute many grain and agricultural materials. He hoped that the importance of mycotoxins would be taken into consideration by the Academy and appropriate strategies would be developed to prevent their introduction into food chain.

Then Prof. Mansoureh Mirabolfathy, researcher of the Iranian Research Institute of Plant Protection, lectured on the history of mycotoxins and discovery of Aflatoxin.

Finally, the speakers answered to the questions posed to them by the audience.
