Chaired by Prof.  Davari Ardakani, the Scientific Council of the Academy sat for its 495^th meeting on November 3^rd. The attendees consisted of the secretary and chairmen of the scientific departments of the Academy.

 After the ratification of the minutes of the previous meeting, the Council members passed the final statement of the Department of Agricultural Sciences on “Warning to the Authorities on the Irreversibility of the Country’s Water Resources”. It was agreed that the Department submit the statement to the relevant authorities.

 The meeting continued with the approval of the proposed document of the MOU by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology on the cooperation between the Ministry and the Academy of Sciences of IR Iran about the joint activity for the promotion of the basic sciences disciplines.

 The Council approved the extension of the cooperation of one invited scholar with the Department of Engineering Sciences, one invited scholar with the Department of Veterinary Sciences and nine invited scholars with the Department of Human Sciences of the Academy.

 Afterwards, the Council members discussed the increase of the maximum number of the members of the Academy and agreed to send a proposal to the General Assembly.
