Presided over by Prof. Davari Ardakani, the Scientific Council of the Academy sat for its 501st meeting. The attendees included Profs. Namazi, Mohaghegh Damad, Moore, Eslami, Sharifi Tehrani, Nadalian and Shahedi.
Following the adoption of the minutes of the previous meeting, the Council approved the second phase of the macro research project on “Foresight of Agriculture and Natural Recourses Status with Respect to the Global Changes and the Trend of Technologies Growth” entitled “Analysis of Ecological New Technologies in Agriculture and Natural Resources”.
Then the proposal of the Department of Engineering Sciences to set up a workgroup on “Engineering and Health” at the academy was approved.
The other topics decided upon in this meeting include:

- Approval of the collaboration of one invited scholar with the Department of Engineering Sciences for a two-year term;
- Extension of the collaboration of eight invited scholars with the Department of Engineering Sciences, six invited scholars with the Department of Agricultural Sciences and one invited scholar with the Department of Human Sciences for a further two-year term;
- Approval of the proposal for the associate membership extension of two members of the Department of Engineering Sciences, one member of the Department of Agricultural Sciences and six members of the Department of Veterinary Sciences of the Academy for a further four-year term. This was passed to the General Assembly for ratification.
