The Scientific Council of the Academy held its 502nd meeting semi-virtually on April 25th.
Initially, the members of the Council congratulated Prof. Reza Davari Ardakani for the extension of his presidency for another term. The extension was proposed by the President of IR Iran and ratified by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. They also expressed hope that the Academy would continue to its success while maintaining its scientific independence and academic dignity as well as its wise and thoughtful management approach.
The topics decided upon in this meeting include:
- Ratification of the final report of the research project on “Studies on Recent Strategies in the Biological Sciences' Research and Technology”;
- Approval of the article resulting from the first phase of the research project on “Foresight of Agriculture and Natural Recourses Status with Respect to the Global Changes and the Trend of Technologies Growth”;
- Approval of the article derived from the research project on “Analysis and Classification of the Defended PhD Theses on Architecture at the Top Universities of the World”;
- Collaboration of the Academy of Sciences with the Iranian Academy of Arts to make a video honoring and appreciating the country’s healthcare staff in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic;
- Passing the membership proposal of associate fellows or the extension of the associate fellow membership of a number of professors proposed by the scientific departments of the Academy. This will be referred to the General Assembly for final approval;
- Passing the collaboration of six guest scholars with the Department of Basic Sciences and one guest scholar with the Department of Engineering Sciences for a two-year term;
- Extension of the collaboration of 11 guest scholars with the Department of Basic Sciences, one guest scholar with the Department of Engineering Sciences and eight guest scholars with the Department of Agricultural Sciences for a further two-year term.
