Prof. Davari Ardakani has appointed Prof. Ali Akbar Salehi as the Vice-President for Research and Deputy President of the Academy of Sciences of IR Iran.

Prof. Salehi holds a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from MIT. His research interests include neutron distribution calculations in reactor fuel cells, reactor dynamics, reactor fuel management, computer data processing, and energy.

He is currently the associate member of the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy and professor at the Department of Energy Engineering, Sharif University of Technology.

Prof. Salehi’s major positions held and memberships include: Deputy Vice President of IR Iran, President, Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Deputy Minister for Education, Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, President of Sharif University of Technology, President of Imam Khomeini International University in Qazvin, Iran's Permanent Representative in the International Atomic Energy Agency, Membership in the Founding Board of Khatam University and Abdolsalam International Physics Center (Trieste, Italy).  

Among his honors are the title of exemplary professor of Sharif University of Technology, the Order of Service of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Order of Courage of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the title of Champion of Iranian Industry Champions in the public sector.
