The Research Council of the Academy sat for its 209th meeting on Sunday, November 28th. The attendees included the representatives of the departments including Prof. Ahmadi, Department of Agricultural Sciences, Prof. Avani, Department of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Tadjbakhsh, Department of Veterinary Sciences, Prof. Sheikh Jabbari, Department of Basic Sciences, Prof.  Zohoor, Department of Engineering Sciences, Prof.  Semnanian and Prof. Rahighi.

At first, Prof. Semnanian,assessed the continuation of regular meetings and the contribution of members in transmitting the suggestions and decisions of the council to scientific departments as very effective and helpful in fulfilling the goals and tasks of the council. He also presented a reporton how to allocate the current year's budget and the 2022 budget proposal, and presenting proposals in this regard, and mentioned that it was important for the Departments to comment on this matter.

 

The members of the Council welcomed the resumption of the Council meetings, expressed their views on the activities of the Departments in order to achieve the goals and missions of the Academy. The members of the council unanimously agreed to promote the position and role of the Academy through these three areas: providing advice to policy makers and decision-makers in formulating the country's strategic plans, cooperating with the country's scientific centers and proposing practical solutions to solve the fundamental challenges of the country and introducing the role and impact of the Academy to the general public.  In this meeting, the issue of recruiting a number of postdoctoral researchers under the supervision of the members of the Academy was emphasized with regard to the goals and missions of the Academy on the one hand and the announced needs of the country's executive bodies on the other, according to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology regulations. It was decided that the scientific departments would introduce the fellows and associate fellows interested in recruiting postdoctoral researchers to the research council for a period of one year, mentioning the proposed titles and topics.

 

At the end of the meeting, the report of the second phase of the research project of the Department of Agricultural Sciences on "Studies on the New Technologies of Compatible Ecosystems in Agriculture and Natural Resources" was approved.
