The Divisions of Physics and Biology of the Department of Basic Sciences of the Academy held a webinar on the Brain Research in Iran: Perspectives and Challenges on February 27th, using the virtual education infrastructure of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences.
The organizers of the event were Profs. Semnanian, Sheikh Jabbari and Valizadeh.
The object of the webinar was to clarify the dimensions of the rapid growth of knowledge and technologies in neuroscience and related sciences in the world, to identify the position of Iran and to explore the ways to reduce the gap between Iran and the leading countries in the world.
Five researchers and managers who have been active in research, leadership and policy-making in this field in recent years, delivered lectures in the webinar.
This was followed by a roundtable discussion on the topic. The lecturers answered to the questions set forth by the participants and exchanged views on the existing problems and solutions to remove the existing obstacles.
