Presided over by Prof. Davari Ardakani, the 510th meeting of the Scientific Council of the Academy was held semi-virtually on Sunday, April 24th. The attendees consisted of the chairmen of the scientific departments, vice president for research and deputy president, and the secretary of the Foresight Council of the Academy.

 

Having ratified the minutes of the previous meeting, the following topics were decided upon in the meeting:

- Associate fellowship proposals of a professor by the Department of Basic Sciences and eight professors by the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy. These will be passed to the General Assembly for final approval;
- Preparation of a draft regulation on how to form think tanks. After discussion and exchange of views, it was decided that this draft be discussed first in the academic departments of the Academy and the opinions, considerations and suggestions of the departments be announced in the next meeting of the Council;
- Presenting the report of the board of directors of the Academy by the secretary on the necessity of convening official meetings of the Academy (Council of Branches and Departments, Research Council, Foresight Council, Scientific Council and General Assembly) face-to-face and holding lectures and seminars in a combined form (face-to-face and virtual) for participation of professors and interested people;
- Approval of holding six meetings of the General Assembly a year due to the need to address the major issues of science and technology of the country and the academy by the general assembly and to raise the main issues in it. Therefore, the first meeting of the General Assembly in 2022 was scheduled to be held at the end of May.
