On Sunday, March 5th, the Research Council of the Academy held its 221st meeting. The attendees included Profs. Hassan Ahmadi, Mohammad Mehdi Sheikh Jabbari, Ali Akbar Salehi, Hassan Zohoor, Farshad Momeni and Saeed Semnanian.
At the beginning, Prof. Semnanian and some members of the Council gave a brief account of the extensive activities of the Academy of Sciences.
Then, the letter of the chairman of the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy, regarding the proposal of the research project on "Analysis of the Governance Process, Management and Operation of Dealing with Natural Disasters in Iran", was raised and the general aspects of the project were approved. These will be passed to the Scientific Council for approval.
Afterwards, the proposal of Prof. Mojtaba Shariati Niasar to form a workgroup on "Examining Transformation Strategies in Higher Education in the 2041 Horizon" was set forth and according to the opinion of the Research Council, it was decided to invite Prof. Shariati Niasar in the next meeting to provide a more complete description of the goals and reasons for the formation of the workgroup while discussing and exchanging opinions.
