Presided over by Prof. Davari Ardakani, the 530th meeting of the Scientific Council of the Academy was held on Sunday, July 2nd, in which the secretary, vice president for research, deputy president, the Planning Consultant of the Academy and the chairmen of the scientific departments were present. 

 

At first, Prof. Davari Ardakani welcomed the audience and thanked Prof. Sobouti for holding the Honoring Ceremony of Abu Reyhan Biruni Award for Distinguished Iranian Young Researchers in Basic Sciences. 

 

Afterwards, the letter of the chair of the Joint Audit Board of the Academies of IR Iran was set forth. Prof. Tadjbakhsh, Prof. Jabbehdar Maralani, Prof. Shahedi Bagh Khandan and Prof. Zahoor, members of the previous term, were re-elected as the members of the Academy of Sciences in the new term of the Joint Audit Board of the Academies of the IR Iran.

 

Then, the draft of "Regulations of the Divisions Council of the Academy of Sciences" was approved with minor amendments and was put on the agenda of the General Assembly for approval.

 

The comments of the scientific departments of the Academy regarding the statement issued by the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy on "Environment" were expressed and it was decided to put the comments in a statement and send it to the relevant authorities.

 

In the next part of the meeting, the proposals of the scientific departments regarding the associate membership and extension of associate membership of several professors were set forth, approved and passed to the General Assembly for final approval.

 

The meeting continued with the approval of the extension of the collaboration of two invited scholars of the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy for a further two-year term.

 

It was also decided to place the Academy’s Logo on the poster of the 54th Conference of Iranian Mathematical Society.

 

Next, it was decided that the Science and Technology on the Horizon 1420 Workgroup, with the cooperation of the representatives of scientific departments, examine the issue of the National Elite Foundation's inquiry regarding the country's 10 priority fields and reflect its opinions to the Scientific Council.
