The late Ali Shariatmadari was a distinguished professor in Education, member of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, past president and fellow of the Academy of Sciences of IR Iran, and the first Minister of Culture and Higher Education after the Revolution. He was an expert in the field of Education, published invaluable books in the past fifty years and trained numerous talented students.

Prof. Shariatmadari used to emphasize on the revision of educational approach as a solution to the educational issues. In his view, these problems will not be solved unless educational approach is revised. Hopefully his lifelong dream will come true in the near future.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to Prof. Shariatmadari's family, members of the Academy, and Iranian academia on his demise.
