The second edition of the book entitled "Advances in Metaheuristic Algorithms for Optimal Design of Structures" is published in English by Springer. The book is written by Prof. Ali Kaveh, fellow of the Academy and professor of Iran University of Science and Technology.

The first edition of this work was published in 13 chapters in 2014. The second edition includes 20 chapters: nine chapters belong to the new metaheuristic methods and 11 chapters are edited version of the methods described in the first edition. Briefly stated, the various chapters of this book embrace the new metaheuristic methods developed by the author and his post graduate students. Frequent references to these methods signifies the great interest of researchers in these metaheuristic methods.

Prof. Kaveh's second book entitled "Applications of Metaheuristic Optimization Algorithm in Civil Engineering" is also published in 18 chapters by Springer. It contains the applications of metaheuristic methods in different fields of Civil Engineering.
