The 46^5th meeting of the Scientific Council of the Academy was held on February 5^th. The attendees included Profs. Sobouti, Davari Ardakani (Chair of the Council), Sohrabpour, Shahedi, Sharifi Tehrani, Zohoor, Mohaghegh Damad, Nadalian and Namazi.

The meeting started with the ratification of the minutes of the 464^th meeting of the Council. Then, based on the letter of the co-chairs of the IAP, Prof. Hassan Zohoor was selected as the Academy's representative. 

The following topics were also discussed and approved in this meeting:

- The Academy's moral support for the seminar of the School of Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems  

- The nominations of the distinguished engineering faculty, prestigious engineer and prominent young scientist in Engineering for 2017 Honoring Ceremony on Engineer's Day

- The nominations of the outstanding engineers in Agriculture and Natural Resources for the honoring ceremony to be held in 2017

-The cooperation of Prof. Siamak Yassemi and Dr. Mohammad Reza Ghassemi as the invited scholars of the Department of Basic Sciences for a two-year term

- The extension of the cooperation of five invited scholars of the Department of Engineering Sciences and Department of Agricultural Sciences of the Academy for a further two-year term

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Ali Khaki Sedigh, President, K. N. Toosi University of Technology, and chairman of the Workgroup on Social and Professional Ethics Crises (in Higher Education), presented a report on the results of the workgroup’s meetings.
