Presided over by the president of the Academy, the 466^th meeting of the Scientific Council of the Academy was held on Sunday, February 19^th. The attendees comprised the secretary, vice presidents for research, chairmen of the scientific departments of the Academy and the rector of the Center for Science and Technology Studies.

 The meeting started with the ratification of the minutes of the 465^th meeting of the Council. Then, Prof. Reza Davari Ardakani congratulated Prof. Seyed Mostafa Mohaghagh Damad and Prof. Mohammad Bolourtchian for receiving the 8^th Farabi International Award on the Humanities and Islamic Studies and the 30^th Khwarizmi International Award respectively. Prof. Mohaghegh was also commended by Prof. Davari Ardakani on his being selected as an exemplary professor of the country in 2016.

The other topics and proposals discussed and approved in this meeting include:

• The regulation of the research projects of the Academy;
• The final report of the research project on "Developing Policies and Strategies for the Control of Emerging and Re-Emerging Diseases";
• Proposals of a number of new research projects of the scientific departments ;
• Extension of the cooperation of four invited scholars with the departments of the Academy;
• The membership of Prof. Alireza Mesdaghinia, professor of Tehran University of Medical Sciences as the natural person in the Scientific Council of the Center for Science and Technology Studies;
• The proposal of the Center for Science and Technology Studies for cooperation of scientific departments of the Academy with the Center for studying the policies formulated by the Expediency Discernment Council of IR Iran;

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Mohammad-Gholi Nadalian referred to the honoring of Prof. Mahmoud Bolourchi, Associate Fellow of the Academy, in the 4^th International Congress of Large Animal Practitioners.
