The 467^th meeting of the Scientific Council of the Academy was held on Sunday, March 5^th. The attendees comprised the president, secretary, vice presidents for research, chairmen of the scientific departments of the Academy and the rector of the Center for Science and Technology Studies.

 At first, Prof. Yousef Sobouti mentioned some points about Iran's water crisis and rainfalls. He emphasized that scientists in different fields should pay attention to this issue. Then the Council stressed that a comprehensive and appropriate program should be compiled regarding the Academy's activities concerning water crisis and the necessity for presenting practical strategies to handle the crisis.

The meeting continued with the ratification of the final report of the research project entitled "Studies on and Evaluation of the Quality of Scientific Journals of Agriculture and Natural Resources". It was also proposed to the president of the Academy to compile and publish a collection entitled "The History of the Academy".

The other topics and proposals discussed and approved in this meeting include:

• The Academy's spiritual support for the 7^th Iranian Congress of Virology
• The extension of the collaboration of Prof. Zohreh Tafazoli with the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Academy for a further two-year term
• Preparation of the agenda of the 117^th meeting of the General Assembly of the Academy
