The Scientific Council of the Academy sat for its 511th meeting on Sunday, May 8th.
Having ratified the minutes of the previous meeting, the following topics were decided upon in the meeting:
- Fellowship proposal of an associate fellow by the Department of Agricultural Sciences of the Academy. This will be passed to the General Assembly for final approval;
- The Academy's spiritual support for the International Conference on “Religions and Peacebuilding in the Third Millennium: Capacities and Challenges”. It was decided to place the Academy’s Logo on the conference poster;
- Regarding the method of voting in the departments and divisions of the Academy with attention to various scientific and executive issues, it was decided that the departments of the Academy in line with the provisions of the Academy Statute, present their proposals in the next meeting of the Scientific Council;
At the end of the meeting, the secretary of the Academy presented a report on the summary of the workgroup appointed by the Scientific Council regarding the criteria for the nomination the selected professor to receive the First Governmental Medal of Science in the Joint Honoring Ceremony of the Academies of IR Iran, and explained the proposed tables. He added that the workgroup's opinion is that in the process of selections, special attention should be paid to the quality and the most significant activities of the proposed candidates, as well as their cooperation and participation in the works and programs of the Academy. After discussion, it was decided to send the tables to the departments of the Academy to submit the file of one candidate from each scientific department to the workgroup. After reviewing the files, the selected ones of the last three years will be sent to the Scientific Council and to the General Assembly if approved by the Scientific Council.
