Prof. Mahmood Fotoohi Firoozabad has been elected as a fellow of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). Born in 1959 in Firoozabad, Yazd, Prof. Fotoohi holds a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He is currently a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology as well as an associate fellow and chairman of the Division of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Academy of Sciences of IR Iran.
Prof. Fotoohi’s major administrative positions include: head of the IEEE Iran Section and chairman of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology. He was also the president of Sharif University of Technology from 2014 to 2021.
