The first specialized meeting of the Waste Management Workgroup of the Climate Changes and Environment Think Tank of the Academy was held on Wednesday, January 25.

The meeting was held face-to-face and virtually with lecturers presented from the Sharif University of Technology and Tarbiat Modares University, as well as the municipalities of Mashhad, Shiraz, Isfahan and Tehran.  

The focus of the lectures of the meeting was to introduce the Waste Management Technical Workgroup of the Climate Changes and Environment Think Tank of the Academy, experiences of source separation in different cities of the country, evaluation of the world and regional situation in source separation, summarizing the status of research in the field of source separation in the country and also providing an experience of the interaction of the exhibitors (source separation booths) with the citizens.

At the end, the lecturers answered the questions posed by the audience. This was followed by discussion and exchange of views about the main points of the meeting.

The second specialized meeting of the Waste Management Technical Workgroup of the Climate Changes and Environment Think Tank of the Academy will be held in May 2023, focusing on the social and economic aspects of the source separation of urban waste.
