The Department of Basic Sciences of the Academy held semi-virtually the ninth round of the Honoring Ceremony of Abu Reyhan Biruni Award for Distinguished Iranian Young Researchers in Basic Sciences on Thursday, June 22.  

The attendees included Prof. Reza Davari Ardakani, president, Prof. Sobouti, chairman of the Department, Prof. Ali Akbar Salehi, vice-president for research and deputy president, Prof. Mohagheg Damad, chairman of the Department of Islamic Sciences of the Academy, Prof. Peyman Salehi, Deputy Minister of Research, Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Prof. Mohammad Javad Larijani, director of the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences, chairs of the Divisions of  Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geology and Biology of the Department,  a number of fellows, associate fellows and invited scholars of the Department, professors, faculty members and post-graduate students of universities.

After welcoming speech of Prof. Sobouti, Prof. Davari Ardakani, Prof. Peyman Salehi, and Prof. Larijani delivered speeches in this ceremony.

Then, the following outstanding young researchers in basic sciences fields of the country were introduced and honored:

Dr. Atefeh Javadi (Physics), Dr. Naser Golestani (Mathematics), Dr. Hadi Parastar Shahri (Chemistry), Dr. Amin Jamshidi (Geology), Dr. Moslem Sharifinia (Biology).

At the second part of the event, each of the laureates gave brief explanations about their research projects.
