The 15th Farabi International Award was held on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, in the presence of the President of IR Iran and the Minister of Science, Research and Technology. The ceremony was held to honor scientific achievements in the field of human sciences. The awardees of this term were introduced and honored.
Prof. Faramarz Rafipoor, a fellow of the Academy and a senior professor of sociology at Shahid Beheshti University, was honored as one of the pioneers in human sciences.
Prof. Rafipoor has a PhD in sociology from the University of Tehran. He has worked in various fields of human sciences, especially sociology, for more than four decades. As one of the prominent scientific figures, has published several works in the fields of sociology of development, culture and national identity. During his scientific career, Prof. Rafipoor has played an effective role in the development and promotion of human sciences in the country as a professor and consultant in various scientific and cultural projects.
In this event emphasis was placed on the importance of the role of elites in the advancement of human sciences and strengthening the scientific base of the country.
