Prof. Mahmoud Fotuhi Firuzabad, Associate Fellow of the Department of Engineering Sciences at the Academy of Sciences of Iran and Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Sharif University of Technology, has been honored with the prestigious IEEE PES Roy Billinton Power System Reliability Award 2025.

The award was conferred in recognition of his “development of innovative methods, algorithms, and solutions for the evaluation and enhancement of reliability, resilience, and operational efficiency of power networks under uncertainty.”

Established by the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) in honor of Professor Roy Billinton—one of the foremost pioneers in the field of power system reliability—this award is presented to individuals who have made outstanding and lasting contributions to the discipline.

The award ceremony was held on July 29, 2025, during the IEEE PES General Meeting in Austin, Texas, USA.
