In recent years, the academy has been engaged in finding solutions to the challenge of the water crisis in the country. In May 2016, The Vice-Presidency for Research in Pure and Applied Sciences of the academy held a two-day seminar on the Causes and Strategies for Riding Out Quantitative and Qualitative Crisis of Water Resources of the Country.
