On Sunday, February 12, the awardees of the 8^th Farabi International Award on the Humanities and Islamic Studies were introduced and honored in the presence of the President of IR Iran. The attendees of the ceremony included the Minister of Science, Research and Technology; Vice- President for Science and Technology; Chief of Staff of the President of IR Iran; presidents of the Academy of Sciences of IR Iran and the Academy of Persian Language and Literature; Deputies of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology; and chairmen of the Iranian universities and research institutes.

In the event, Prof. Seyed Mostafa Mohaghegh Damad was honored as a prominent figure of Humanities of the country. Prof. Mohaghegh Damad is a fellow and chairman of the Department of Islamic Sciences of the Academy and professor of Law and Islamic Philosophy at Shahid Beheshti University. Other awards belonged to a variety of scientific fields.
