The 118^th meeting of the General Assembly of the Academy was held on July 13^th. Prof. Reza Davari Ardakani chaired this meeting in which out of 46 fellows, 38 were present.

After the approval of the previous meeting's minutes, Prof. Fathollah Moztarzadeh and Prof. Ali Reza Sepaskhah, fellows of the Academy, were chosen by ballot as the candidates of the Academy to receive the First Governmental Medal of Science in 2016 and 2017.

Then, the associate membership of Prof. Seyed Mohammad Ghari Seyed Fatemi was considered and approved by ballot for a four-year term. Moreover, the associate memberships of 2 associate fellows of the Department of Basic Sciences, 15 associate fellows of the Department of Engineering Sciences and 17 associate fellows of the Department of Agricultural Sciences were extended for a further four-year term.

At the end, Prof. Abbas Manoochehri, Chairman of the Strategic Study Group, Center for Science and Technology Studies of the Academy, presented a report on the series of meetings on the Status of Scientific Knowledge System in Iran and the results obtained from them.
